Development and improvement of products

The United Engineering Centre (R&D, CAD/CAM/PLM and IT-centres) together with engineering design bureaus and enterprises of the Industrial Group UPEC carries out work on development of science-intensive, high-profitable, competitive products to provide high engineering level, optimal performance parameters, strength, durability, advanced production technologies and operation modes.

R&D-centre works in close cooperation with Management in planning, design and development of UPEC products and Ukrainian Engineering Design and Technology Bureau of the bearing-building industry (UKTB PP. Ltd). One of the latest developments is the design of a bearing for journal-box assembly of the rail-way rolling stock is a radial doubled bearing with short cylindrical rollers with protection washers (CRU-duplex) and a journal-box bearing of cassette type (TBU 150x250), which comply with bearing characteristics of best world manufacturers. For the first time for last 20 years the UPEC R&D-centre has done a complete cycle of computation in optimization of the axial contact of the roller end with working racer flanges and in shaping raceways and generating line of rollers which enabled to provide the required distance run of bearings in combination with application of import grease of the new generation.

Together with Management of air turbine technologies the development of a new in principle climate supporting system is going on for rail-way passenger high-tech cars.
