PROJECT ISA-2008
In autumn 2008 г. President of the IG UPEC and his team made a strategic decision about the beginning of complex automation of designing and technological preparation of the production because the enterprise confronted a number of serious problems which hinder achieving maximum profitability: long cycle of items development; small contribution of new products in total sales volume; low rate of renovation of manufactured products; poor information support of the development and non-compliance with international standards of designing, long cycle of agreement and approval and revisions.
In accordance with bidding results, carried out by the IG UPEC with participation of all leading manufacturers of software platforms for systems of integrated automation, РТС (USA), a world leader in integrated PDM/CAD/CAM/CAE-systems was chosen, and company Pro|TECHNOLOGIES (Russia) was a winner of the bid among companies system-integrators. Thus in spite of the crisis and hard financial and economic situation, project «Integrated system of automation of the IG UPEC» (ISA-2008) was started.

The Project embraced 5 engineering centres, 5 plants and a managing company IG UPEC. 530 workers of different enterprises incorporated in the Group have got involved in the Project. Seventeen main processes of design and technological preparation of production have been automated: product planning, agreement and approval, designing, testing, technological preparation of the production etc. A single corporate computer network was created which allows to accomplish work in common electronic environment; databases, knowledge bases and reference books were created.

Our partner, system integrator – company Pro|TECHNOLОGIES had hard time: 530 team members have been trained, which made in total 3392 study hours; more than 20 pilot projects and 72 audits have been carried out. However we set up regime of strategic partnership among companies - UPEC, Pro|TECHNOLОGIES and РТС, which allowed to successfully complete implementation project of ISA-2008 exactly on time, having achieved all planned results», - are words of Valery Pragin, Director-General of JSC «PTC International».

Such large-scale project was executed within 15 months. As a result we have improvement of project management efficiency, client-orientation and capitalization of IG UPEC.
